Book of Mormon First National Tour Cast Update

Book of Mormon Tour Will Star Jared Gertner, Samantha Marie Ware, Kevin Mambo and More. Jared Gertner will star as Elder Cunningham, the role of a Mormon missionary originated by Josh Gad on Broadway. He will appear alongside the previously announced Gavin Creel, who will play Elder Price, the role originated by Andrew Rannells.

Gertner is appearing in “Mormon’s” Broadway production at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre, having succeeded Gad, who left the show this month.

Rounding out the touring cast will be Samantha Marie Ware as Nabulungi, the role that won Nikki M. James a Tony on Broadway; Grey Henson as Elder McKinley, played on Broadway by Rory O’Malley; and Kevin Mambo as Mafala Hatimbi, played by Michael Potts on Broadway.

The Book of Mormon first national tour kicks off in Denver in August and comes to Los Angeles at the Pantages Theatre in September. Book of Mormon First National Tour is set to run at the Pantages Theatre for a 12-week engagement from Sept. 5 to Nov. 25.

A second national tour of “Mormon” will start in Chicago in December (December 11, 2012 to March 03, 2013), with a different cast that hasn’t been announced.

“South Park” creators-writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and Tony-winning Avenue Q songwriter Robert Lopez collaborated on the script and score to the musical, which earned Tony Awards for Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical.
