The Book of Mormon musical tells the life of young Mormons who were sent on a mission to Uganda, a country of turmoil, fear and Poverty. The Mormons were sent to bring the Ugandan people to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

After a short stint in Saint Louis MO last year, The Book of Mormon musical is coming back to the city! The musical will be part of the 2014-2015 season. But this time at a different venue – Peabody Opera House (1400 Market St, St Louis, MO 63103).

The story’s about two Mormon missionaries, one a quintessential nerd who’s out of his element and the other a gung-ho Mormon who wants to work in Orlando. They somehow end up in Uganda dealing with some harsh problems.

It’s written by the guys who created “South Park” and one of the guys who wrote “Avenue Q.” There’s lots of foul language, as you might expect from that crew, but by all accounts it’s a substantial musical with great songs and lots of laughs.
