The Tony Award-winning musical will be returning to Washington DC from July 16 to August 16, 2015, according to the center’s season announcement.

The story’s about two Mormon missionaries, one a quintessential nerd who’s out of his element and the other a gung-ho Mormon who wants to
work in Orlando. They somehow end up in Uganda dealing with some harsh problems.

Book of Mormon was here in Washington during last summer from July 09 to Aug. 18, 2013. Tony-winning musical will be arriving for a 4-week engagement in July 2015.

It’s written by the guys who created “South Park” and one of the guys who wrote “Avenue Q.” There’s lots of foul language, as you might expect from that crew, but by all accounts it’s a substantial musical with great songs and lots of laughs.
