The Book of Mormon musical opened at the Kennedy Center Opera House (The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, 2700 F Street, NW, Washington, DC 20566 ), and theater officials say some tickets are still available for the fans. The Book of Mormon Tour opens Thursday July 11 and runs through August 18, 2013 in Washington DC.

The Book of Mormon, winner of nine Tony Awards, is the creation of Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. Parker and Stone are the writers behind “South Park,” and Lopez is co-creator of the hit musical comedy “Avenue Q.” The Book of Mormon follows two young Mormon missionaries sent to Uganda, who soon discover their training did not quite prepare them for the world outside of Salt Lake City. It offers an offensive but funny look at two missionaries in Uganda.

Saturdays – 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM
Sundays – 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM
Additional show on Wednesday Aug 14 at 1:30 PM
