The second national tour of the Tony Award-winning musical The Book of Mormon, which will be returning to Los Angeles, CA on January 21, 2014 which was originally scheduled to play till Feb. 9, 2014 extended through March 16, 2014.
The Tony-winning musical was first seen at the Pantages in 2012 for a 12-week (September 05 to November 25, 2012) run as part of the first national tour that kicked off last year in Denver. The Los Angeles tour of Book of Mormon musical, which was originally scheduled though Feb. 9, 2014, has been given an additional five weeks and will now play through March 16, 2014. The current tour cast includes Rouleau and Platt as Elder Price and Elder Cunningham, respectively, with Mercado as Nabulungi.
“South Park” creators-writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and Tony-winning Avenue Q songwriter Robert Lopez collaborated on the script and score to the musical, which earned Tony Awards for Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical. The Book of Mormon also won Tony Awards for Best Direction (Parker and co-director/choreographer Casey Nicholaw), Best Performance by a Featured Actress (Nikki M. James), Best Orchestrations (Larry Hochman and Stephen Oremus), Best Scenic Design (Scott Pask), Best Sound Design (Brian Ronan) and Best Lighting Design (Brian MacDevitt).
